Join us for this very special two-part workshop where Esme, founder of Common Goods Studio will guide you through the creation of your very own matcha set! (1 bowl + 2 cups). This is a 2 part workshop; On September 21st you will create your items and on October 19th you will return to glaze and decorate.

Each ticket includes;  

  • Materials and instruction for creation of your items
  • Snacks and Refreshments

When? 6pm on September 21st &  6pm on October 19th 2023 (2-3 hours)

More Details: Participants will be able to pick up their creations about 2-3 weeks after the conclusion of the event, we'll send them an email once it's ready!

Common Goods Pottery is founded by Esme Qining Lei, a Chinese-Canadian potter creating work out of Toronto and Markham, Ontario. Esme is a 2017 graduate of OCAD university, majoring in Graphic Design with a strong focus on experimental type and speculative design. Combining her passion for creating with her hands, and her graphic design background, Esme uses clay as a part of her creative vocabulary. She creates functional and decorative ceramic pieces for the modern home. From expressively decorated pieces to minimalist forms with reserved colour use, her work is reflective of her personal experiences and emotions as she navigates the world.  

 

Please come to the event prepared; 

  • Have short fingernails
  • Do not wear a ring, bracelet or watch
  • Wear clothes and shoes suitable for a workshop. They will likely get dirty!
  • Tie up long hair
